How adoption works
Because our dogs live in foster homes, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a private meet-and-greet.
1. Browse available dogs
See who's looking for a home on our Petfinder page.
2. Apply to adopt
Complete your adoption application. We review it before arranging meetings.
3. Meet your match
Once approved, we schedule a private meet-and-greet with the dog's foster family.

Adoption Fees
Adoption fees help cover veterinary care and other expenses for the animals in our rescue program, while also supporting animals who require additional medical treatment, training, or boarding. While the pet you adopt may not have extensive medical or care needs, many others in our program do.

Our goal is to save as many animals as possible, and these fees help offset the significant costs involved in providing them with the care, safety, and second chances they deserve.

There are a lot of fees involved with rescue. Most of our dogs come from Texas. We pay about $200-$230 per dog to have them transported from Texas to Virginia alone, that doesn't include the routine vet care. The adoption fees help cover expenses such as vet care, food, fees from the originating shelter, animal boarding, fees to run our website, advertising fees, paperwork and much more.
